Fantomas
“An elusive hint towards the transgressive act that has been carried out with an ease of refined precision”, says Gualtieri of this olfactory ode to the iconic French literary villain. It’s difficult to pinpoint the exact notes behind the scent of crime, but this one seems to include honeydew melon, burnt rubber, plastic and caramel.
Nasomatto
Italian for ‘The Mad Nose’, Nasomatto is the project of seasoned perfumer Alessandro Gualtieri. Having cut his teeth creating designer perfumes for houses such as Fendi, Versace and Helmut Lang, Gualtieri dissented in order to realise the heretical scents of his fervent imagination. The formula of the fragrances in the Nasomatto line are kept secret but are believed to be inspired by ancient Middle Eastern perfumery. Each scent is designed as a conceptual offering, intended to create a unique feeling in the wearer. Gualtieri describes the motto of the line as “No Limits” - what happens if you take a sensation and distil it to its most absolute essence?
