Freshwater pearls
1000mm Length
Handmade in Sydney
No.8
A genderless reinterpretation of the classic pearl necklace, this version can be worn as a long, delicious strand or doubled to create a two-strand extravaganza. There were a lot of good things to come out of lockdown - and Momoko Hatano’s eighth collection is one of them. A freshly-made mother at the time of the collection’s conception, the designer’s curiosity about natural evolution and change is evident in the spiralling sterling silver, coils of freshwater pearls, and other curving, golden motifs that swirl through the entire collection like infinity loops.
Momoko Hatano
In self-confessed awe of its cultural heritage, this is Japanese designer Momoko Hatano’s newest collection. Originally trained as a painter in Sydney, Momoko’s specialty is the natural progression of her art, her career in jewellery borne from her drawing skill. Completely hand fabricated, her work is elegant and quietly fierce - sometimes simultaneously. So is she.
