Every other month, Bao Bao's signature interlocking triangle design is transfigured into a new and innovative shape. For January - a chic, slouchy hobo bag complete with soft leather handles. With its matte, tactile surface and endlessly transformative shape - there’s a reason these technical, innovative bags have gone viral, and why they are so fiercely protected by the Issey Miyake brand.
The grandfather of modern design, progressive Japanese designer Issey Miyake had an infamous preoccupation with geometry and technology. Issey Miyake is hailed by artists, designers and fashion houses as one of the most influential creatives of the century, and was perhaps most famous for his eponymous boutique perfume line and lightweight, un-creasable clothing line, ‘Pleats Please’. He was also the man behind Steve Jobs’ black turtlenecks, the Lithuanian Olympic uniform in 1992, and the founder of his own design museum in Tokyo.
