Veja x Sorry Thanks I Love You

Veja x Sorry Thanks I Love You

For the past nine months we’ve been working with cult French sustainable sneaker brand Veja on a special collaborative project launching in Sydney this week.

On Friday 1 November Veja will open their first ever Australian pop-up store at our newest space: Sorry Thanks I Love You at Westfield Sydney.

The project will run for the entire month of November and will see a specially curated range of Veja’s newest and most exclusive styles brought to Australia. Among the 20+ sneaker options are the ‘V-Knit’ made in collaboration with Rick Owens, Veja’s first ever ‘post-petroleum’ biomimetic running shoe, made from 53% natural-based and recycled materials, and a host of new styles never before available in Australia.

Calling on materials like recycled plastic bottles, rice waste, banana oil and organic Fairtrade cotton, and most recently brought to the world’s attention thanks to Meghan Markle’s feet, Veja sneakers are among the most ethically and sustainably made in the world.

Veja’s ethos is ‘to stand up with one foot in design and the other in social responsibility.’  Made in Brazil with values like fairtrade, transparency, upcycling and ‘no ads’, Veja’s goal is to create sneakers that will quite literally stand the test of time.

At Sorry Thanks I Love You the focus is on the community, quality and the unexpected.  Whether it’s offering free yoga in our stores, transforming our spaces into art galleries, or serving up slices of raw milk cheese to our guests, we’re always interested in experimenting with what can and cannot be done within a traditional ‘retail’ setting. As far as the founders of Veja are concerned, this special collaboration is the perfect fit. Judging by the media’s response so far, the public tends to agree.

In the signature Veja spirit of preserving our environment, the collection will be housed in its own miniature ecosystem: a beautiful living garden installation created in partnership with one of the best independent florists in our network: Jane Lampe from Floreat, at our newest space in the designer gallery at Westfield Sydney.

We don’t think you will have seen anything like it.
