Our New Melbourne Pop-Up Shop

Tomorrow we're opening the doors to a brand new pop-up shop in the heart of Melbourne's CBD.

With an in-store florist, a special focus on gourmet food, especially commissioned pieces from local designers, a new range of boutique wine, and an events calendar that sees the re-launch of a world famous artist, this shop is especially experience-focussed and will be open right up until Christmas.

Designed to be a real-life manifestation of our online space, the pop-up shop will feature our unique handmade design, gourmet food, craft spirits and fresh flowers in the newly completed St James Retail Centre on the corner of William Street and Bourke Street.

Our range of gourmet salmon, cheeses, chocolate and handmade produce from small-scale Tasmanian artisans will all be available to taste and, for the first time, purchase in-store.  (Think sashimi-grade smoked salmon and hand-milked caviar from Huon Aquaculture, raw milk and vine leaf-wrapped cheese from Bruny Island Cheese Company, and pinot spiced cherries, pork rilletes and marsala figs from small producers around Tasmania.)

As well as new collections from Dinosaur Designs and Marimekko, we'll also have some exclusive collaborations with Sydney jewellery designer Löblé and Melbourne-based cordwainer Wootten, hand painted axes from Australian master craftsman GrayBear, an expanded range for new parents and babies, and for the first time in Australia, accessories from New York-based designers Out of Office.

Boutique Melbourne florist Tilda will also be taking up residence in the shop every Thursday and Friday, offering our visitors the chance to design their own bouquet from her range of fresh spring flowers. 

A defining feature of the space will be our unique collaboration with celebrated American artist Ken Friedman, a founding artist of the Fluxus movement in the 1960’s alongside Yoko Ono, George Brecht and John Cage.  Friedman, whose work currently hangs in the Museum of Modern Art and the Guggenheim in New York and the Tate Modern in London, is re-entering the art world after a two decade period in academia and will be exhibiting a series of limited edition artworks in both our Melbourne and Sydney pop-up shops.

The shop will also see the launch of our first wine range which has been developed in consultation with Master Sommelier Sebastian Crowther. Seb was awarded the highly sought-after Master Sommelier qualification at only 29 years old after five consecutive years of study, and has chosen a series of small batch wines for us from some of the best (though perhaps least known) vineyards around the world.

A series of in-store tastings and events have been scheduled for the next two months to allow visitors to taste, touch and sample Sorry our range.  As well as spiced chocolate and honey tastings and free iced tea from The Seventh Duchess, we'll also host salmon and champagne nights, Bruny Island Cheese tastings, and West Winds gin and 666 Pure Vodka tasting sessions.
