Melbourne Temporary Store Opening

This May, we’re bringing Sorry Thanks I Love You to life in Melbourne alongside the restauraunts, providores and designers of Hawksburn – and this time we’re staying for a full eight months.

Sharing pavement with Jac and Jack, Bouchier, Gewurzhaus and neighbouring Bassike, our temporary store will open on 9 May 2015 and has been designed especially for us to showcase special collaborations with local designers, new pieces for mothers and babies, and a new boutique wine and spirits range.

Our Sydney pop-up shop in Martin Place has hosted master classes with expert craftsmen, free yoga classes, honey making demonstrations, premium single malt whisky and vodka tastings and even Tasmanian cheese and salmon days - and the events calendar for our Melbourne store will be of the same calibre.

Along side new collections from Dinosaur Designs and Marimekko, the temporary store will also showcase new miniature merino wool pieces from UK-based label Waddler, bespoke Japanese socks, a special Mother’s Day collaboration with obsessive Sydney-based chocolatier Amanda McKeith of Winnow Chocolates, and a host of new craft spirits imported from distilleries around the world.

We’ll also be releasing new boutique wines sourced especially for us by Master Sommelier Sebastian Crowther.  Sebastian is currently Head Sommelier for the Rockpool restaurant group and his focus for Sorry Thanks I Love You is on sourcing artisanal wines from emerging vineyards around the world that have interesting stories to tell, like an organic Chablis, two new organic champagnes, and some red wines from some of Australia’s best young wine makers.

All of our interactive pop-up shops in both Sydney and Melbourne have been designed as physical manifestations of the website, allowing visitors to touch, taste and sample our range.  This time round we’ll be introducing new elements to the Sorry Thanks I Love You concept that we’ve been working on since launch – like partnering with some of the world’s most skilled artisans to create limited edition pieces especially for this project.  Things are getting mega.

Doors will open on Friday 9 May and will stay open until the end of December and we’ll release more details to your feeds and inboxes in the coming days.

Thanks for having us back.
