London Now

We've been in Paris and London over the past few weeks.  From hyper colour maze tunnels to mind altering plant and fungi sampling, here's our favourite stuff going down in Londres right now.

London Design Festival

The London Design Festival is in full swing and there are large-scale installations, whacky exhibitions and events taking place all over the city at the moment, including huge mirrors multiplying the art in the V&A, and cubby houses lined up along the Thames.

Intoxication Season: Mind Altering Plants and Fungi

Yes, there are the huge secluded glasshouses, bee gardens, and restaurant in the orangery, but Kew Gardens’ new session hosted by the Plant Connoisseurs Club has got to be one of its best drawcards.  ‘Intoxication Season’ explores all manner of mind altering substances found in nature, including magic mushrooms, opium, tobacco and coffee… and participants are even invited to try samples of some of the weirder plants.  Yep.

Open House London

Open House London combines our innate love of snooping with awesome English architecture.  The Cutty Sark, the Gherkin, 10 Downing Street and Louis XV’s palace and gardens are all open to the public for free this weekend.

Colourscape Music Festival

The Colourscape Music Festival at Clapham Common is kind of like a festival of synesthesia. Combining giant maze-like tunnels, computer musicians, children’s choirs and artists performing in giant inflatable balls floating on the common’s Long Pond, it’s London at its strangest.

The London Transport Museum

The London Transport Museum have 5000 posters in their archives dating back to 1913, and they want the public to decide which 15 posters from the past 100 years to include in their exhibition.  There are some rippers in there. Visit their Facebook page to check out their collection.  It’s the next best thing to being here.
