Leather Belt - Hender Scheme

Androgyny

Do it once and do it well

The bedrock of Ryo Kashiwaki’s brand is a very Japanese disposition towards quality and endurance and an experimentation with Sandra Bem’s  ‘gender scheme’ – in other words, doing away with conventional gender-based fashion. “Instead of saying, ‘these are shoes for men and these are shoes for ladies,’ I wanted to be able to make something unisex, and have full sizes for both,” Ryo has said. “If it’s more concerned with colour or (design) lines, then I don’t think there is a need for these elements to be determined by gender.”
