Akashi Single Malt Whisky - White Oak



Because their stills are only in operation for one month every year, White Oak only produce miniscule amounts of whisky – the majority of which are blended.  Very occasionally however, single malts are made available in extremely limited quantities. Thanks to the crafty Master Sommelier Sebastian Crowther, you’re looking at one now. This creamy, gingery single malt is distilled just west of Kobe and is aged in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks.  From one of Japan’s oldest working distilleries, this is a smooth, smoky whisky that’s been described as ‘provoking’, ‘encouraging’ and, best of all, 'like honey and treacle on crumpets.'
